Karine prides herself on being a “math translator,” taking abstract, more intimidating concepts and turning them into manageable, intuitive steps. Her goal is to cut down academic stress and empower students with the problem-solving skills they need to succeed, both in the classroom and beyond.

Jorge Paredes is an experienced math educator with deep roots in California. He grew up in Southern California and has called the Bay Area home for the past five years. Jorge earned his B.S. in Mathematics from UC Riverside in 2016, then returned to UCR in 2017 to complete their graduate education program. After earning his teaching credential, he enrolled in CSU Fullerton’s Master’s in Mathematics program while beginning to teach full time.
This June, Jorge completed his ninth year of teaching. Over those nine years, he has taught a wide range of courses, from 6th through 8th grade math, Algebra through Calculus, and even a couple of college level courses through Gavilan College. That breadth gives him the flexibility to meet students wherever they are academically and guide them confidently to the next level. Jorge holds himself to very high standards and holds his students to the same, while keeping the learning environment supportive and encouraging. His goal is to help every student build real confidence and lasting skills in mathematics, the kind that pay off long after the next test is over
